Matt.1.18Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
Matt.1.20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Matt.3.11“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Matt.3.16And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending a dove and coming to rest on him;
Matt.4.1Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
Matt.5.3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matt.8.16That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
Matt.10.1And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.
Matt.10.20For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Matt.12.18Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
Matt.12.28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Matt.12.31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Matt.12.32And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Matt.12.43“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.
Matt.12.45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”
Matt.22.43He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,
Matt.26.41Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Matt.27.50And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
Matt.28.19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mark.1.8I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Mark.1.10And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens opening and the Spirit descending on him a dove.
Mark.1.12The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness.
Mark.1.23And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,
Mark.1.26And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
Mark.1.27And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”
Mark.2.8And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts?
Mark.3.11And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”
Mark.3.29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”—
Mark.3.30for they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
Mark.5.2And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.
Mark.5.8For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”
Mark.5.13So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered the pigs, and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and were drowned in the sea.
Mark.6.7And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
Mark.7.25But immediately a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet.
Mark.8.12And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
Mark.9.17And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.
Mark.9.20And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.
Mark.9.25And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
Mark.12.36David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared, “ ‘ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.’
Mark.13.11And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Mark.14.38Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Luke.1.15for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Luke.1.17and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
Luke.1.35And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.
Luke.1.41And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
Luke.1.47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Luke.1.67And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,
Luke.1.80And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel.
Luke.2.25Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
Luke.2.26And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
Luke.2.27And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,
Luke.3.16John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Luke.3.22and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
Luke.4.1And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness
Luke.4.14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country.
Luke.4.18“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
Luke.4.33And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
Luke.4.36And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
Luke.6.18who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
Luke.7.21In that hour he healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight.
Luke.8.2and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
Luke.8.29For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.)
Luke.8.55And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat.
Luke.9.39And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him so that he foams at the mouth; and shatters him, and will hardly leave him.
Luke.9.42While he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
Luke.10.20Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Luke.10.21In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
Luke.11.13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke.11.24“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’
Luke.11.26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.”
Luke.12.10And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
Luke.12.12for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
Luke.13.11And there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself.
Luke.23.46Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.
Luke.24.37But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit.
Luke.24.39See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
John.1.32And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven a dove, and it remained on him.
John.1.33I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
John.3.5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
John.3.6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John.3.8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John.3.34For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.
John.4.23But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
John.4.24God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John.6.63It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
John.7.39Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John.11.33When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled.
John.13.21After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
John.14.17even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
John.14.26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John.15.26“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
John.16.13When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
John.19.30When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
John.20.22And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts.1.2until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Acts.1.5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Acts.1.8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts.1.16Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
Acts.2.4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts.2.17“ ‘ And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
Acts.2.18even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
Acts.2.33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
Acts.2.38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts.4.8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders,
Acts.4.25who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, “ ‘ Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain?
Acts.4.31And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
Acts.5.3But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?
Acts.5.9But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
Acts.5.16The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
Acts.5.32And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
Acts.6.3Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.
Acts.6.5And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch.
Acts.6.10But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
Acts.7.51“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
Acts.7.55But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
Acts.7.59And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Acts.8.7For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.
Acts.8.15who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit,
Acts.8.17Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts.8.18Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostleshands, he offered them money,
Acts.8.19saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
Acts.8.29And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.”
Acts.8.39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.
Acts.9.17So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts.9.31So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
Acts.10.19And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
Acts.10.38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Acts.10.44While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.
Acts.10.45And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles.
Acts.10.47“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
Acts.11.12And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.
Acts.11.15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning.
Acts.11.16And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
Acts.11.24for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
Acts.11.28And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius).
Acts.13.2While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Acts.13.4So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts.13.9But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him
Acts.13.52And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Acts.15.8And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,
Acts.15.28For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:
Acts.16.6And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.
Acts.16.7And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.
Acts.16.16As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling.
Acts.16.18And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.
Acts.17.16Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols.
Acts.18.25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.
Acts.19.2And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Acts.19.6And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.
Acts.19.12so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
Acts.19.13Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus, whom Paul proclaims.”
Acts.19.15But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”
Acts.19.16And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Acts.19.21Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”
Acts.20.22And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there,
Acts.20.23except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me.
Acts.20.28Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
Acts.21.4And having sought out the disciples, we stayed there for seven days. And through the Spirit they were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.
Acts.21.11And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”
Acts.23.8For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
Acts.23.9Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Phariseesparty stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”
Acts.28.25And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: “The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:
Rom.1.4and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
Rom.1.9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you
Rom.2.29But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.
Rom.5.5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Rom.7.6But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.
Rom.8.2For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Rom.8.4in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Rom.8.5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Rom.8.6To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Rom.8.9You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Rom.8.10But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom.8.11If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Rom.8.13For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Rom.8.14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Rom.8.15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Rom.8.16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Rom.8.23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
Rom.8.26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Rom.8.27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Rom.9.1I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit
Rom.11.8as it is written, “ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”
Rom.12.11Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rom.14.17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Rom.15.13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Rom.15.16to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Rom.15.19by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;
Rom.15.30I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,
1Cor.2.4and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
1Cor.2.10these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
1Cor.2.11For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1Cor.2.12Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
1Cor.2.13And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
1Cor.2.14The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
1Cor.3.16Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
1Cor.4.21What do you wish? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love in a spirit of gentleness?
1Cor.5.3For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.

1Cor.12.10to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
1Cor.12.11All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
1Cor.12.13For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one bodyJews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
1Cor.14.2For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.
1Cor.14.12So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.
1Cor.14.14For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful.
1Cor.14.15What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
1Cor.14.16Otherwise, if you give thanks with your spirit, how can anyone in the position of an outsider sayAmen” to your thanksgiving when he does not know what you are saying?
